The course is designed for both beginners and experienced weavers: beginners will gain a playful introduction to 4-shaft weave structures, while advanced participants can develop pattern ideas, create samples, and experiment with different structures. At the end of the workshop, you will take home at least one handwoven fabric sample measuring approximately 16 × 20 cm.

In this workshop, you will get to know The Boom Loom — a portable weaving frame that offers an accessible and intuitive introduction to pattern weaving. You will create your first samples using different weave structures and explore how different pattern sticks transform the structure of the fabric.

Unlike traditional weaving frames, which are mainly designed for plain weave, The Boom Loom allows you to create 4-shaft pattern weaves. With five interchangeable pattern sticks, each insertion and rotation reveals a different weave structure — similar to a 4-shaft loom, but with a simple and intuitive mechanism.
